The Pinwheel Galaxy, M33 in Triangulum. Canon Digital Rebel at ISO 1600, 3 minutes with a 200mm F/2.8 (320mm effective.) At 2.4 million light years distance, the Pinwheel Galaxy is the 2nd closest galaxy to our Milky Way Galaxy, the closest being the Andromeda Galaxy at 2.2 million light years. |

The Whirlpool Galaxy, M51. Canon Digital Rebel at ISO 1600, 3 minutes with a 200mm F/2.8 (320mm effective.) Cropped close-up. Estimated distance is 37 million light years. Compare it's size to M33 in the first picture above. |
