Mars on
August 25th & 26th, 2005
I awoke early on the morning of August 25th, 2005 for some reason and on a whim, took a peek outside before going back to bed. The sky was very clear, but even more important, very still. No twinkling for any stars near the zenith. Mars was near the zenith at that time. So, with the seeing so good, I decided to take a shot at the red planet with my trusty C-8 and a Toucam Pro webcam. Here is the result of that endeavor and below that another picture from the following morning: |
Mars on 8/25/05, 10:51 UT (5:51 AM CDT). Celestron C-8 telescope, 2X Barlow, Toucam Pro webcam. 150 frames stacked in Registax. Click on the image to enlarge. |
Mars on 8/26/05, 10:49 UT (5:49 AM CDT). Celestron C-8 telescope, 2X Barlow, Toucam Pro webcam. 600 frames stacked and processed in IRIS. Click on the image to enlarge. |
